Stop
.
.
.
Stop apologizing for your appearance because you think you don’t fit society’s standards of beauty
.
.
.
Stop posting pictures that say you’re a mess or sorry you look bad or whatever. You know the ones. “I look like such a mess, but my dog is sure cute”, “wish I was looking better today, but the ice cream sure was good”, “ignore my terrible face”, and on and on and on
.
.
.
Stop
.
.
.
Push the brakes to the floor right now. All the way. So hard and fast you hear the tires screech on the pavement
.
.
.
And if you are doing it for the attention, please stop because you don’t need that kind of attention in your life or the kind that comes from posting half naked photos of yourself. Modesty is beautiful and you are way more valuable than that
.
.
.
Rock your sweatpants, messy bun, and no makeup, or cute cardigan and jeans, or dress
.
.
.
Own who you are
.
.
.
It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks
.
.
.
You are beautiful
.
.
.
And if you don’t think you are or can’t quite believe it yet, write yourself a note and hang it on your mirror. Tell yourself every single day as many times as it takes. Repeat it over and over until it gets down in your soul and one day you will believe it without a shadow of a doubt. I am not talking about going around conceited. I am talking about remembering Whose you are. He created you in His image. He is beautiful and so are YOU.
