Any of you jumped in on the golden milk trend? I had never heard of it until a few days ago. I decided to give it a whirl. Let me tell you….I love it! I have been seeing posts about this stuff, its health benefits, and the fact that people are getting better sleep with drinking it an hour before bedtime, and I just had to try it for myself. I have had sleep issues off and on for such a long time so I am hoping this really does help! I used Silk Almond Milk, pure vanilla, great value cinnamon, great value organic turmeric, great value ground ginger, and almond butter (ingredients purchased at Walmart.
Did you know that almonds are rich in magnesium which promote both sleeping and muscle relaxation? They are also a heart-healthy brain booster.
Or that honey allows tryptophan to get into your brain easier? Seriously, go look it up!!! Not to mention sweetens and so many others!!!
Or that ginger calms your stomach? Some studies think it helps promote relaxation and reduce anxiety. Hmm 🤔 It is also said to relieve muscle pain and regulate blood sugar, as well as possibly reduce risk of diabetes, cancer, and more
Turmeric is supposed to do some amazing things for your body such as aid digestion, calm you ,help with joints, and is a natural anti-inflammatory. Cinnamon also helps with digestion and is loaded with anti-oxidants, is an anti-inflammatory, helps lower blood sugar….just to name a few
And now my cup is empty. And I am sad.
1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk
2 tsps honey
1 tsp almond butter
1/2 tsp pure vanilla
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (more to sprinkle on top)
1/4 tsp turmeric
1/8 tsp ground ginger
Combine ingredients in pan and cook on stove. Whisk where they don’t stick to bottom. Don’t boil it just heat it through. Pour into cup and enjoy
