After hiking a few trails one day, we decided we were hungry. And nobody wanted anymore snack food or sandwiches so we decided to check out the local cuisine. We found The Ozark Cafe. It has a very nostalgic, old diner feel. There is a sign beside the door that lets you know the cafe has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. You walk in and see checkerboard floors and red chairs, old metal signs, pictures on the walls from past visitors (many of them famous). The food is absolutely delicious. They serve several different types of burgers, chicken fried steak, grilled sandwiches, and more. And the dessert! Don’t even get me started! We were so full from the food that we didn’t hardly have room for more, but we sure tried! Everything tasted just as good as it looked.
If you are ever hungry while traveling through Jasper, be sure and stop at the Ozark Cafe! You will not be sorry!
