I am absolutely 100% beyond excited about all the changes taking place at our Fixer Upper Farmhouse!
We are going to be doing some major renovations and reveals over this summer! Our new siding and windows are done. We are just waiting on a couple of things for the outside and then I will be posting all about that! I cannot wait to share with you! I have not done any updates on it because I want the original owners of the house to see it and be surprised. They raised a family (7 children!) in what is now our home and are so very sweet. They are now our friends and I just know they are going to love the changes. It has been so hard to not share progress, but there is a method to my madness!
Getting the siding updated put us back in the mood to continue renovations. My husband has been working really hard on a room that has been empty for the 3 years we have had the house and several years before that. It was a bit of a train wreck when we bought the place. There were large piles of rodent poop, trash animals brought in, snake skins, and all kinds of things in there. We cleaned on it and then shut the door to it. It was an add-on that was attached to a trailer home that got moved to the back of the house and butted up against it.
All of the old insulation has been removed. The wiring has all been checked and there is power to the room. Yay! That is one less expense! We bought new outlet boxes and covers and such, and have about 21 rolls of insulation sitting in the floor of the room to put up.
I am excited because we are also building a walk-in closet in the room and I have dreams for it! I would like built-in shelving units and places to hang clothes. I would like to not have dressers in the bedroom anymore so that we can put fit a king sized bed back there and a reading area. We also have a door that leads outside under a new patio roof so I am dreaming about that area also.
I am so glad you are going to be following along with our progress!!!
