Sometimes, okay, most of the time, it’s our perspective about a situation that needs to change.
When we begin looking at things in a different light, it can have the biggest impact.
For instance, look at the background of this picture.
I can choose to see it as dull, absolutely terrible, and in desperate need of a paint job.
Or, viewing it in this picture, I can choose to see it as it has character and, if walls could talk, so many stories to tell of love, laughter, good times, not so wonderful times, but oh so much life that has existed inside and outside this dwelling (that doesn’t mean I’m not going to paint it eventually).
We too often look at what’s wrong and negative instead of finding the beauty. We point fingers and say, “If only this were different…if only he/she were different….if only I had more money…if only I could travel…if only I had a different job….if, if, if….life would be so much better” instead of looking at the positive.
It’s easier said than done, I know. Trust me. I do.
But when we begin to change our perspective, we begin to change….and sometimes, okay, most of the time, that’s what needed to happen in the first place.
Instead of saying, “Today was the worst day” remind yourself that it’s another day you were blessed to live.
If *this* is the worst thing that happens to you today, you are going to praise God that you are alive and well and thank Him for all His blessings.
Find the beauty.
Change your perspective.
Watch God change you and your circumstances.
Praise Him in the storm.
Praise Him in the calm.
Change your attitude into gratitude.
I most definitely have to work on this because I am by no means perfect, but I am progressing…and that’s what counts.
